Welcome to Creating Climate Wealth -North America 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Dates: March 27-28th
The Carbon War Room focuses on achieving billion ton (gigaton-scale) reductions in carbon dioxide emissions (co2) by harnessing entrepreneurship to unlock the largest wealth- creating opportunity of our generation. We plan to achieve this by bringing private capital together with emerging technology providers and local and central governments to drive environmental improvements alongside economic growth.
In the us alone, the green economy is valued at $500 billion and is poised for growth - there could be between 1.8 million and 2.4 million green jobs in energy conservation, resource conservation and pollution control. Since the oil crises of the 1970s, billions of dollars have been pumped into technology development in the areas of energy efficiency, low-carbon energy, efficient transportation, biofuels, and other areas. This investment has led to hundreds of breakthroughs that are cost effective today. Yet, full commercial utilization of this innovation and their financial rewards still eludes us.
The purpose of the Creating Climate Wealth North America Summit is to identify specific us pathways to accelerate deployment of these green solutions in the face of low expectations and weak mandates. This high level workshop-driven convenes executives, investors, entrepreneurs, and leaders from the private and public sector.
A Guide to the Facilitated Workshops
Creating Climate Wealth is a workshop-driven summit to ensure that your voice is heard and solutions are found. The workshop structure comprises four breakout sessions over two days for your elected track. The objective is to identify and develop strategies for addressing the top five barriers to rapid deployment of clean technologies and renewable energy in your sector, and to provide a unique perspective on the solution that will incorporate your personal vantage point. To maximize the output and knowledge development, you should anticipate staying in your assigned industry track for all of the sessions.
We are excited to have you on board, and look forward to creating roadmaps towards climate wealth solutions with you.
