'Nanny' Fran Drescher to attend Vienna cancer fundraiser

American actress Fran Drescher ("The Nanny") will attend the 10 April cancer fund-raising gala "Dancer against Cancer" at the Vienna Hofburg, it was announced today (Weds).

Drescher, who attended the 2009 Life Ball in Vienna, will arrive in Vienna on 9 April and attend a cocktail party that evening. It is not known how long she will remain in Austria.

The actress, who has had cancer, reportedly wants to publicise her organisation the"Cancer Schmancer Movement" in Austria.

At the Hofburg event, celebrities will join professional dancers in a variety of dances and songs, with the winning duo receiving the "Dancer against Cancer Trophy."

In addition to Drescher, Uwe Kröger, Günther Mokesch and Ulrike Beimpold have announced they will attend the event.

TV chef Tim Mälzer will provide the food.

Meanwhile, Seitenblicke magazine has reported that society girl Paris Hilton will arrive in Austria on 27 March to appear on the TV show "Wetten, dass…?" in Salzburg and then dance at a Vienna nightclub or disco.
