A Taste of Austria - Oct 19, The Austria Pop-Up Store NY
Sip, sample, and savor the exciting flavors of Austria.
For one evening, we bring together New York's most celebrated Austrian chefs for a tasting extravaganza that highlights the many varied flavors of typical Austrian cuisine. Paired with a selection of the best Austrian wines ranging from the Wachau's Gruener Veltliners to Styrian Sauvignon Blancs, the chef's creations will take you on an epicurean journey through the Austrian wine country.
Mix and mingle with likeminded culinary aficionados and chat with importers of Austrian wines who will be happy to share tips on pairing options and information on different varietals.
Meet chefs Kurt Gutenbrunner (Wallsé, Café Sabarsky, and Blaue Gans), Wolfgang Ban (Seasonal), Eduard Frauneder (Edi & the Wolf), and Erwin Schrottner (Café Katja), who will prepare a range of dishes from typical Austrian comfort food to modern interpretations of Austrian traditional cuisine.
The Vienna Cookie Company will round out the experience with sweet surprises in the form of traditional Austrian cookies, made from recipes passed down several generations. Part of the proceeds will go to City Harvest.
